The Holiday Food Basket program is a partnership between West O Chamber and COPE.
Provide Christmas dinner to a western Douglas County neighbor family!
This program has been provided to our neighbors in need for over 45 years. Early in December, donated food will be collected from area schools then organized into baskets and delivered to over 500 families on December 21st at locations in Elkhorn, Bennington, Valley, Waterloo, and Yutan.
Most of the food is donated, however, the food basket also includes toilet paper, fresh fruit, and a complete holiday dinner of half-ham, chicken breasts, potatoes, dressing and gravy. These items are purchased thanks to monetary donations from various churches, businesses, organizations, and individual donors in the area.
2024 continues to be extremely difficult for many families in our communities, and we feel this year the need could be even greater for our food baskets, we hope you will consider donating to this amazing project.
We are asking for your financial support, please consider mailing your donation in the self-addressed envelope. Because of the partnership with COPE as a 501-(c)(3) non-profit entity, you will receive a receipt as a tax-deductible contribution. Make checks payable to COPE and write Holiday Food Basket on the note line. Mail to COPE, PO Box 177, Elkhorn, NE 68022.
Your donation will be placed in a restricted account and only be used for the food basket project.
